The Institute has three main grades of membership. New members must generally complete a Part I Examination after which they enter the Institute as an Associate. Those with a greater level of arbitral knowledge can then move on to qualify as a Member and then a Fellow. There are currently over 9000 members in the three grades. Although the Institute Headquarters is based in the UK membership is international, with members representing 84 different countries and over a third of the total membership being based outside the UK. The membership represents a wide variety of professions including Accountancy, Banking, Construction, Insurance, IT, Law, Medicine, Property and Shipping. For further information
